A student design with a story to tell.

Created by Oral Health student Mika Turnbull, winner of AUT’s 2026 Student T-Shirt Design Competition, the Whāia T-Shirt is part of our AUT Shop limited-edition collection.

Inspired by Mika’s daily commute to campus, the design features flora and fauna and celebrates the different journeys we take to AUT.

The design is accompanied by the whakataukī:

“Whāia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe, me he maunga teitei.”

A reminder to keep striving towards our goals and celebrate the effort we put into our mahi, no matter how big or small.
