Refuel is located on the floor above the student bar and provides your favourite dishes from around the world. It is the best buffet in town. For $8.50 you get a large plate of hot food for breakfast, lunch or dinner and it’s so much better than 2-minute noodles! Great coffee and the best service from our lovely team led by Megumi. The café can seat 120 inside and 50 outside in the large courtyard area. Pre-purchase a 10-meal ticket for just $80 for an even better deal.

North Campus
Kōkihi reflects students’ concern for sustainable healthy food. It is the name of our New Zealand beach spinach and can also mean to sprout, shoot or begin to grow in te reo.
Located on the ground floor of the new AZ building at North Campus this café takes its lead from seasonal produce. With more of a focus on using locally grown produce that’s in season, some even grown on North Campus.
Kōkihi will offer a menu and cabinet items to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. You can expect changing menus that may feature classics like eggs benedict, salads using fermented and fresh greens, build-your-own tortilla plus poached seasonal fruits, sourdough potato pancakes, kumara kahawai fishcakes and more. Plus, available everyday will be a delicious and varied range of counter food, think wraps, sandwiches, takeaway salads and delectable slices and yummy bliss balls.
With a firm eye on sustainability Kōkihi:
- Won’t sell any single-use plastic bottles unless they are made from 100% recycled plastic.
- Will utilise reusable containers.
- Will offer fairtrade certified tea and coffee
- Will use packaging that’s compostable or recyclable
- Will compost all food waste on site
- Will establish beehives on site
As always Kōkihi will offer fairtrade certified Orb coffee and serve all your favourite hot beverages. Seasonal House made sodas on tap will also be available.
